Our new handmade solid oak bread bin was designed to be both.

Made from beautiful solid European oak and individually handcrafted in our Fox & Fern workshop, this is a substantial piece of kitchen storage designed to sit proudly on your worktop rather than be hidden away.

Crafted From Solid European Oak

Each bread bin is made from solid European oak, chosen for its strength, durability and beautiful natural grain.

There are no veneers or imitation wood finishes. The character you see comes directly from the timber itself, meaning every bread bin will have its own unique grain pattern, markings and natural variations.

These little differences are exactly what we love about working with real wood. No two Fox & Fern pieces are ever completely identical.

A Chopping Board Hidden In Plain Sight

One of our favourite details is the substantial solid oak base.

The bread bin lifts away to reveal a removable oak chopping board measuring approximately 40cm × 25cm, giving you a useful surface for slicing bread, preparing breakfast or serving fresh rolls straight from the kitchen.

Once you're finished, simply return the bread bin to its base and the chopping board becomes part of the design again.

Designed For Everyday Kitchens

The bread bin itself measures approximately 37cm wide × 23cm deep × 22cm high, giving you plenty of room for everyday loaves, rolls and baked goods without taking over your worktop.

Recessed handles make the bread bin easier to lift from its chopping board base, while the simple oak construction keeps the overall design timeless and understated.

Made Slowly, Not Mass Produced

This isn't a lightweight, mass-produced bread bin.

Each one requires a considerable amount of timber, preparation, construction, sanding and finishing before it leaves our workshop. It is made individually and carefully finished by hand, with the aim of creating something you can use and enjoy for years.

We have deliberately kept the design simple because beautiful oak doesn't need much added to it. The grain, weight and craftsmanship are what make the piece special.

Styling Your Oak Bread Bin

Natural oak works particularly well in both traditional and contemporary kitchens. Style your bread bin alongside ceramic storage jars, linen tea towels, fresh herbs or other natural materials for a warm and relaxed look.
